I bought a new PTO bdrive belt for my 2180 last weekend and by the end of one mowing it seems that it has stretched to far to turn the blase, it is falling off. It looks fine and it was a Cub Cadet belt. Any ideas?

Is the tensioner setup properly? Those babies allow for some series variation. Maybe they gave you the wrong belt length.

The belt doesn't stretch. When you put on the belt, and feel like everything is set up and tensioned properly, you have to start it up and engage/disengage the blades a few times. Then you shut down and check the tension. Like Joel said you might have the wrong size belt, or might just have not released the tensioner.

The belt worked just fine for a week, mowed about two acres with it. Then it threw the belt, it was just laying on the ground behind the tractor. I put it back on, two more trips around the yard and I noticed no cutting, this time it was on the spindle between the pulleys. Fixed, no mow.
I went to the dealer and they sold me a new kevlar belt, the other was from Tractor Supply, Cub Cadet 740-4041, new one was new model 954-4041. Measured them when I got home, the old one was three inches longer in the loop. Dealer said you would rip the threads and the belt would break before it would stretch, but for a week it worked perfect, then it just fell off.????
Also, the dealer was $8 less the TSC. 10 miles further away though.
