Hi All,
So I picked up a very cheap used box blade yesterday that is in need of some repair. Instead of the rear blade being angled at ~45 degrees as it should be, it has been bent back so that it's basically vertical now. (see picture) The blade is fine, it's the bracket it bolts into that is bent. I assume this was caused by the previous owner using it as a bulldozer, while running their tractor in reverse.
It is a light duty Land Pride 60" model and is obviously not built for heavy duty work.
Any idea how to repair this? Remove the blade, heat the bracket up with a torch, and beat the snot out of it with a sledge hammer? Is this something I should attempt to tackle myself, or should I let my local dealer handle it? I can't imagine they would charge me more that a few hundred bucks (right?), which for me would be worth it.
Thanks!
