HELLO TO ALL,
one of the lift pins on my box blade was bent.
i bought a new one at the local farm, and home.
i removed the old one, installed the new one,
and tried to get a 1,1/4in wrench on the nut. it would
not go on, so i used the old nut. a wrench fit it fine.
i checked the new nut with a micrometer, it was
1.265. i checked my sockets, and wrenches. they
are 1.260. i had noticed a label on the pin that said,
made in usa, tiawan, or china. well where ever it was
made, i think the quality control is very poor.
the nut appeared to be made of cold drawn hex bar
stock, and it was plated to prevent rust. i could not
use an adjustable wrench, because it was a hard place
to get into. i could have touched it on my disc sander, and
that would have taken care of it, but the plating would
have been ground off.
has anyone else had any experiences like this?
comments please.
