I'm looking at a Berco 72" self contained blower.
It is actually a utv mount blower than has been converted to skid steer quick attach.
It has a Honda engine and the controls are all electric.
Anyone have experiences with something like this? Wondering how it might hold up
to semi commercial use and what it is worth. Thanks, Nick.
==========================================================
Small motorized snow casters are ment for the residential market period.
and they have neither the high torque required nor the capacity for heavy use
due to the design. They are ment to crawl on the ground period. The steel is
not that thick.
It would be different if the unit had two motors, one for the impeller operating at 540 RPM
and the second for the cross auger and the drive system would be simpler and independent
of the other engine.
The hydraulic drive snow casters with the rear tank and pump are also under powered and
very expensive and have one cross auger only.:thumbdown:
The other issue is the open cross auger which is also problem because it floods the impeller
when the snow should be metered at specific rate to allow the impeller to cast the snow as far
as possible in one rotation.
