Do all three big tractor companies now offer telescoping stabilizers as an option on their compact tractors? NH Boomers (like 33D) and some Kubotas (interested in 2910) I know do. What about John Deere 4000 series, say 4300? Any other difference stand out between hitching systems of three model/brands mentioned. Thanks!

Bradey, I think you are talking about what Kubota calls an extendable lower link end which allows the lower lift arm to extend out to hook up implements. To my knowledge, a JD 4300 does not have that extendable link on their lower lift arms. I think that is a very desirable feature. I would also highly recommend a hydraulic top link if you are going to use a box blade (Scraper) at all. You can probably get it cheaper while you are buying the tractor than as an add-on later. Just a suggestion.

Bradey, the 3-point hitches are pretty much standard as far as the way implements are hooked up. Of course, there are differences like whether the lower links have the telescoping ends (a big help), whether the length adjustment on the top link and one side link are ratcheting or not (unless you get the hydraulic ones) and the type of stabilizers that prevent the implement from swinging too far side to side (chains, turnbuckles, solid bars - one inside the other with pins, etc.).

Kubota has a very nice system on some of their tractors. It is not an option, either it has it or you can't get it. The telescoping links have to be very rugged to survive. The side telescoping tubes used on many Kubotas allow you to pull a pin and set the side to side motion of the lower links. This is a real plus over the turnbuckles or other schemes. Seem to be on the newer designed compacts and the larger M Series Kubotas.

I'm told that it is possible to put the telescoping stabilizers on Kubotas other than the ones they come on. I've ordered some for my B2100 and the cost is just $128/pair. That's the good news. The bad news is that I placed the order over a month ago. I expect they'll arrive just as soon as I finish my grading project that has me swapping between an inside mounted scoop and an outside mounted box blade all of the time.

Will,

Do you know which model the telescoping stabilizers you ordered come from? I would be real interested if they would fit my B21, which is close in size to your tractor. My two closest dealer are not very helpful on this type of thing.

I don't know exactly what I've ordered. The dealer knows which tractor I have and what I want. The only clue I've got is that he's told me some parts have arrived and others are back ordered. When/if it all gets here I'll post the part numbers and let you know if it works. I just checked and noticed that you live in Atlanta. My dealer, AA Sales and Service, is in Athens which isn't too far. You can call them at 706-353-8122 and see if they know the answer to your question.
