NH Boomer 35
I used to have a NH T-1510 that I had a Erskine grapple for. Compact Tractor Industrial Grapple Rake - Erskine Attachments, Inc.
On that tractor I ran hoses from the rear remotes which always worked fine but now I have traded in the 1510 on a new boomer 35 and since my father has the older boomer that is the next size up and NH doesn't make a nicer tractor at this time
I see myself hanging on to this one for a while. "plus so far I really like it"
So who makes the nicest/best 3rd function valve set up for a boomer?
So far I have looked at
Valve Kits

3rd function valve kit for any tractor, free shipping within 1,000 miles!!

3rd Third Function Hydraulic Valve Kit New Holland Tractors Front End Loaders | eBay

Are there any others? Does anyone know of any links to an install on a NH Boomer ?

rmw,

Would you like to source all the parts and do the job your self and save money?

This valve will work the grapple using the curl function of the joystick valve.

Then look at SAE 8 15 GPM DOUBLE SELECTOR VALVE 12 VDC P15544-1

We have debated this 3rd function or true 3rd function. before.

The question is do you need a true 3rd function valve to control a grapple.

Answer is no.

Will a diverter valve work better, I think the answer is yes. You do have feathering with a diverter. Short hoses, mounts on the loader.

so with the diverter I am guessing I would have a switch I would use that in one position I could open/close the grapple and in the other I could curl the grapple ?

Not exactly.

With the valve connected correctly, the default mode with voltage on is position 1 and the curl circuit works. When you flip to position 2, the grapple will work.

Flip the switch the other way, and you are back to curl/dump.

So if I was going to do this I am guessing I would be about the same taking the hoses from my old tractor and running it off of the rear remotes ?

In the past the rear remotes always worked fine for me but being able to simultaneously curl/lift/grab with the grapple is what is appealing to me.
If I had already run one like that maybe it is not a big deal , maybe I'm just too used to moving things with an excavator with a thumb on it

I reworded post #5.

The simple fact is that you can't do all that at the same time.

Some valves will let you use both or two functions at the same time.

So in using the curl with the lift, that is two functions. Switch selection 2, lets you use the lift and the grapple.

Even a true 3rd function, if using all the fluid for loader, there is no fluid for the 3rd function. You can use a true 3rd function if using half lever on the loader.

A series hyd circuit is different than a closed center circuit where all valve are in parallel and any and all valves can be operated together , as the flow simply divides among the valves.

If you chose to operate the grapple with the rear remotes, and you were using all the fluid for the loader, you would have no fluid for the grapple.

The valve spools redirect the fluid and how much flow to each hyd component.
