When shopping for a bigger tractor last year, my former tractor dealer neighbor advised me NOT to get a cab tractor. Terrible advice. I ignored him and am thrilled with my air conditioned and heated cab.

When considering a grapple purchase, I followed our own Island Tractor's advice and bought a 48" light weight grapple - introducing WildKat to this forum - and have been working that grapple to death. Yesterday we cut and moved over 40 honey locust trees up to 18" thick. I could not be any happier with that purchase.

Box blade: The collective advice from this forum was buy heavy and get hydraulic rippers if possible. Great advice which I followed. To that I would add, get a galvanized one (Modern Manufacturing). It's a hoss.

My experience with this forum has been great. I would encourage anyone contemplating a major purchase to do your homework, review prior threads, and learn from the experience of others. Thanks to TBN and my cyberspace neighbors who contribute.

It's all in what works for you. A cab would limit my area I can travel. Lots of timber/limbs everywhere. Some day I may get farm clean enough for a cab but not know! Good luck and glad works for you.

The best and worst advice I ever received about tractors was not to buy one.

My dad advised me to not rely on worn out farm equipment, because there will come a time when you just want it to work. I didn't listen.

10 years later, I am seeing the wisdom.
