Thanks for the input bnixon an bird. Sorry it took me so long to get back on here. ISP connection problem and the good boating weather kept me off line for the last 4 days. I think the middlebuster should do the trick, and if it takes a little hand shoveling thats still better to me than renting and trying to manuver a big ole ditch witch for a little job like this (12 to 15 inch trench).
