Hello all,

I am currently researching the idea of importing a tractor from China. I would like some input from those of you who have experience. Who should I use, on the China end, as my exporter? Who should I avoid?

I'm looking to import a JM 354 with some attachments.

Thanks in advance.

Importing 1-tractor and attachments is not a good idea, missing parts, damaged parts will take you 3-4 months to get if you get them.Don't think it happens ?? Do some research on here and the other boards and you will see.Buy from a dealer in the USA already, several sell crated units,it will be your best option. Then you don't have to deal with customs, bonds, ect.
It's your money so do what you think is right,I hear horror stories all the time
some even from small dealers.

I thought of importing my own tractor but had serious second thoughts. First you'll have to trust the person you are sending all your money to, and have the agony of getting the machine thru customs. Too many things to go wrong to save too little money. The importing dealers have set up a network to get the tractor here amd are regular buyers. I used John Nelson (tractor connection) and I'm very happy with the service he provided. There was no local dealer available in my area- if you are close to local dealer I would have seriously considered buying one assembled. I had and am having fun assembling my tractor -but it is a decent amount of work Good Luck in your quest

I bought a already imported crate JM354. It's been a great little tractor. I had enough to do just assembling it without all the importing stuff to do. I replaced the hydraulic strainer and the fuel shut off valve and all the guages (they were the standard round individual gauges) are pretty much it. I bought the Harbor Freight quickhitch and all or most of my implements are KingKutter, They give you pretty good stuff for the money. I'm still on the original chinese batteries and ignition switch, almost 5 yrs, now. I'm the single poster here that doesn't avocate a FEL. I think they're just to hard on the tractor and didn't want the tractor cluttered up for maintenance and FEL's are expensive. I do own a box blade and a rear blade and a rake (all KK) though for dirt and tash moving. After Having said all this, the two local dealers have quit selling the Jinma line, I don't know why? Anyway if your handy with wrench's you'll enjoy your tractor and won't have broken the bank aquiring it. bjr
