best combo turf seeder?

I'm looking for a little 6' seeder that can do do both primary seeding and overseeding. A small seed box would be a big bonus for me. I've been looking at the greenscape conservation seeders (they have 7' and 5' models).

Any other options out there?

check out the Land Pride "all purpose seeder". I have one and it works well for everything i've needed it for.

You have spikes or the cultipacker on the back of yours?

What is your primary use for it?

Find you an old Van Brunt grain drill...
Much cheaper than an over-seeder...
Spring loaded slitters will cut through current grass and seed new grass...
I used one several years ago with excellent results...
Only downside is that it has 7" row spacings...
You will need to cross drill if you are over-seeding grass...
Amazing at the germination rate...

I have a 605nt and a 1006nt great plains no-till drill with 7.5" spacing. I have tried them on my farm and are terrible for any sort of turf. I also have a 10' land pride primary seeder. I'm really looking for a smaller overseeder that can pull double duty as a primary seeder on smaller landscape type jobs. I need something that does a nice job, the kind of job that people would pay for. :thumbsup:

Have you found that most disc type drills will do this whether double or single disc or do youy think they will?

My only experience was with our old single disc drill...
I don't know how effective a double disc would be...
The spring loaded disc do a really good job of slitting the soil...
My germination rate was excellent...
Actually seeded some grass in the gravel driveway...
Our drill is probably a 1960's era-vintage unit in good working order...

I've rented Frontiers version of the LandPride all purpose seeder many times for overseeding lawns, it does a great job. When it comes time to purchase a seeder thats the kind I'm getting. Probably go with a Woods STR-60, its identical to the Frontier except for the paint.

Hmm, the frontier seeder I am seeing looks A LOT like the greenscape seeder, not the landpride or the woods.

i have the packer wheels. i have seeded both into existing thin grass areas as well as new seeding
