Best garden sprayer?

Would like to get a garden pressure sprayer..the kind you pump. Any pros/cons?

I once bought what I thought would be my "last" one when I got a nice, expensive stainless steel one...only to have a pinhole leak in the seam...back it went.

I've beat the tar out of the pvc one I replaced it with, and I've mooched one off my father in law /w3tcompact/icons/blush.gif.

I'd like to get one, maybe two...one to use as my diesel spewing ammunition for starting my fires..the other one for wifey to use as needed around house...(do not want to mix the mixtures!! /w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif )

So..went to Lowes last night, saw couple typical looking ones, saw stainless..backpack mounted..

The one I'm currently using keeps getting little bits of stuff clogging up the valve mechanisim..as such, I have to every now and then take it apart to clean out. I do not mind doing it, and in fact, am glad it can be done..however, it's all plastic and is starting to get dinged up from my fixes in the field..it's demise is near.

Was my experience with the stainless tank an abberation?
I do not mind paying for quality/durability.

I have had ggod luck with Sears stainless steel models. Yours might have had a factory weld problem but for the most part they will last for years. I have had a bunch and I would never buy another plastic one again. Junk. I also now have the Black and Decker motorized pump. When you're doing a lot of spraying it's a wonderful thing! It's plastic but I like the not pumping thing!!!

I have been very pleased with my <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.solo-germany.com/english/inhalt/pflanzen_rueckenspr.html>Solo Backpack Sprayer</A>. It's the most comfortable backpack unit I've ever used, is easy to pump and hasn't clogged or given me any problems whatsoever in the 4 years that I've been using it.

Picked mine up at Home Depot, but I think it's widely available at other stores and on the internet.

i bought a stainless sears model at an auction, it worked great for a couple years, then holes started coming thru all over the place, so i finally trash canned it..i now have a used troybuilt, thats on wheels an i pull it around, i also bought it used, put a new pump on it and use it a lot. it has a 5 gal container, thats why its on wheels. but i also have several plastic models, one i bought recently is advertised on the box as having a lifetime warranty on the tank, as long as you don't run over it, its a Chapin and seems to work pretty well.
