Congrat's to Muhammad Chishti for starting this website and to all the people that have helped build this very valuable tractor database. The info here has been a big help. I've never even been on a tractor but I'm starting a new business (merchant of stone walls) and I think a tractor with FEL will be the right equipment to start my business with.

I talked to a Mahindra dealer on the phone and he told me that Mahindra owners had the lowest amount of warranty claims of all tractor brands. I'm not sure where he got that stat but I thought I'd pass the info along to this list.

With the kind of electrical problems they have I don't buy that!

If we are talking about the darn PTO solenoid on the 4110, I'd have to agree. I have been having to push the solenoid reset switch(button) to get the PTO to work. Back to the dealer! If anyone knows of a tractor made like the Ford 8N series quality, but around 50 HP, let me know so I can go buy one.

I'd be curious how they got their stats, but they don't seem any worse than other brands, from what we see on TBN.

It that is what you are really looking for, about the closest that you will find is the MF 400 series.

PTO solenoids on the 10 series, starters and alternators on the 00 series. The dealer was here working on mine the other day and said they were looking at adding another mechanic. They already have 2 full time like the other dealers here and are adding another. They do not sell as many tractors as the deere dealer or the kubota/MF dealer, yet they need another mechanic? Sounds to me like they are having issues.
I am thinking I will be trading before the warranty is out!
Is it typical that a new tractor will not pull a hill in high range? All the older tractors I had would and I don't see any of the other guys tractors around here downshifting on hills!

KenB - You wouldn't really trade in your Mahindra would you ?

Well, sometimes I really consider it. I'm not sure if the grass just looks greener (no JD implied) on the other side or not. I admit that I have not been impressed so far with my 4110. I have less than 150 hours on it and the following problems or design flaws (in my opinion) exist:
1. PTO solenoid problem
2. Brake lock will not stay engaged
3. FEL bucket drifts down quickly
4. I absolutely hate to re-fill the fuel tank. Difficult to do.
5. Power steering is "flakey"
6. FEL hydraulics are too slow and movement has inconsistent speed.
7. Hood/body panels rattle like a rattletrap.

I am planning on sending the tractor back to the dealer (I am going to ask him to pick it up, but I doubt that will happen).
I am going to have him fix the things that CAN be fixed. After that, I am going to give it another 100 hours. If this solenoid thing keeps breaking, I am going to call it a bad unit, and find me a poor soul that wants a red tractor, and wish him luck.

I'm with you on the fel drift, filling the fuel tank, and power steering being flaky. The fel is definately slow and my hood too rattles constantly. The things that really bother me are the fact that I've had starter trouble 3 times, now the pto quit turning and that in one year and 218 hrs. I've got a feeling the pto problem is the clutch. I definately would trade if I could get everything fixed and I didn't lose my skin in the process. Just trying to figure out if I should trade now or ride out the next year of warranty.
