What would be the best riding mower for a small lawncare buisness?

You need to fill in some details. Like, what size properties do you plan to mow? Small, tight, heavily treed lots will demand a very different unit than large, wide open tracts of grass.

Depends on terrain, space and $$$.
I have a Scag 48" 19hp that I use to mow 3 yards in town and my 3 acres. I paid $6800 4 years ago. I don't know how many hours because the digital hour meter went all goofy. But it has to be in the 7-800 hour range, which not that much for a commercial mower. But I haven't had any trouble at all just belts and fluids.
Take your time. Do your research. You will find the right one. (Just as a side note; go to a dealer, not some box store.)

+1
Lots of good mowers, but Scag is #1 or was the last time I checked.

What size (cutting width)? Do have have any narrow gates to get through? What's your budget? Are you going to use it for anything besides mowing? What brands have dealers in your area?

and,

"I want a cub cadet"

This seems to start out asking a reasonable question about mower choices and you were asked for a few more details. Without more input from you why should we waste out time.

Go buy the Cub Cadet.

I ment what would be a good cub cadet for a lawn with a gate the is 42in wide?

Not super familiar with Cub Cadet but the current 1040 series has a 42" deck offering and I would expect it to need about a 45" opening to drive thru.

If you are starting up a lawn care business you need to consider lots of things before choosing your new mower. I wouldn't let a small gate hinder your choices of equipment, you might be better off shopping for a new wider gate first. I would do some research as to what customers needs are and are willing to pay you for. Spend some time to figure out what you need the most and then consider everything including a trailer to work with.

I do alot of landscape work and consequently need to get in some tight spaces from time to time. I find I need about five feet of space to use the mower as a minimum. In your case with a mowing business you will need a pushmower for tight spots.

You might find that a lawn tractor with a 38" cut will fit through a 42" gate I would take a tape measure with me to verify though.

ZTR or lawn tractor? Side discharge, mulch, bag, or all three? I bought a new Cub Cadet lawn tractor in 1995 and traded it off in 1999 when I didn't need it anymore; pretty nice little machine and I can't say for sure, but I think it was 38" cut. You might be able to get through a 42" gate with a mower with a 38" cut, but you might not, too. I think it may depend on the discharge chute and how far it sticks out, although you may be able to fold it up to get through a gate. This year Toro came out with a ZTR with a 32" cut and with the side discharge chute that I use most of the time, I can barely get through a 36" gate. When I put the bagger on, I can't even get through a 48" gate. However, it is pretty quick and easy to install and/or remove the bagger.
