I have been considering selling my current pallet forks and buying a new, lighter set for the purpose of increasing load lift. The current set weights close to 380# and I have seen some online close to 230#. Given my L3400 can only lift about 950#, the extra 150# would be a nice increase in load lift.

I’ve been looking at the lightweight 42” forks on everything attachments. Seem good, but they’re free shipping is only to a business with a loading dock. The extra shipping cost to a private residence makes them pretty spendy. Any other quality lightweight forks that can be recommended?

Try palletforks.com. They have a nice selection, good pricing, and free shipping. I think they are probably imported from the C country, but I haven't heard any quality complaints.

These are where ours are from. We got the 36" Fork/Spear combo back when Titan was still selling on ebay. The price was good and we don't use them very often so being Chinese imports isn't a big deal to us.

EA uses Freight Shippers that move stuff by the tractor trailer load. In order to get residential delivery, the shipper has to move your item(s) off the TT and over to a smaller truck with a lift gate. The extra charge comes from them having to handle it, the extra truck, manpower, etc. and is out of EA's hands.

We bought our grapple from EA and it was shipped to the FedEx freight terminal in the city I work in. Took the trailer with me to work one day, ran out on my lunch break and they loaded it up for me. Once I got it home I used the tractor to unload it myself, no big deal.

I would call and talk to Travis (or he may even be through here shortly) and see what the actual closest freight terminal to you is, it might not be that bad.
Otherwise (my small town mentality) check with some of your local businesses that have a loading dock and see if they will receive it for you (even if there's a fee it might be cheaper than lift gate service).

Best of luck whichever way you go.

My set is from HLA and is rated to 2000lbs.... the 1200 pound version only would save me 25lbs.... I think the only way to save a real amount of weight is to give up on the adjustable fork spacing (width)

thats something I couldn't live with out

I have a set of the Titan forks that are pretty darn light and it was delivered to my door by FedEx freight with no additional charge. I've been really happy with them. They aren't as clean as some of the other brands but when I inspected them there was nothing that concerned me. They just did stuff like paint over weld splatter but the welds look decent and strong. The color doesn't 100% match my tractor but it is close enough.

I like the ones I got from them as well. I just got a set of heavy duty ones with 48" forks over their 4th of July sale. They actually had the same forks with the bale spears included for only $510 and they were running an additional $75 off orders over $550 and $105 off $750 (I ordered another item as well so I got the $105 off). The best sale price I had seen on the forks alone was $593 so I got the bale spears which I'll never use along with the forks for less than the forks by themselves. My advice in shopping from them, sign up for their email list and wait for a sale. They are ALWAYS having sales on their site and every item I have had interest in over the past few months has been on sale no less than 6 times.

As a side note, they do have a selection of them "Made in USA" as well.

Found a dealer for construction attachments about 20 miles from here so no shipping. They sell a compact fork, 1800# capacity for $590. Seems like a reasonable price and made in USA I think. Any input? I may go pick a set up this week.

Compact Pallet Forks - Compact Loaders - Pallet Fork Attachments - Products - Construction Attachments Inc

That is the same brand, size and rating as the forks I bought years ago with the exception of the way the fork width adjustment, mine has a round bar which has been discontinued. Mine have been used and abused and have held-up very well. For the price and free shipping I don't know how you can go wrong. I just checked and they are $140 less than I paid in 2011.
