After decades of trying, I believe the best place to mount flood lights--so you can see without shadows--is on the front weight bracket. That's assuming no interference with loader or whatever. It 's 10:30 PM and I just finished mowing and I could see as well as could be expected but just fine for mowing. No shadows like from the ROPS mounted lights.
You can search my posts from a year ago to see how I mounted these but it's not too hard and it sure works for me. Just my two cents and maybe this will help someone. It's not that I want to mow so late but just not enough hours right now.
What do you guys think?

Sixdogs,

i agree, but i do have a FEL and tend to drive against piles of dirt to reach as far as possible so your lights would last me half an hour.

I therefore mounted mine on the left and right side above the front axle onto the tractor frame. Angled at 30-45 degrees instead of dead ahead they light the area besides the bucket and the path the front wheels are traveling when turning. ( I did use round fog beamers instead of the rectangular as yours)

To get rid of the bucket blocking the standard lights i have worklights mounted on the fel arms. (broke them off in the mean time but will surely replace them) The nice thing is when operating the fel they follow the bucket so you always have light where you need it.

Back side lighting i have a similar flood mounted between the 3pt arms which lights the implements and 2 worklights on the fenders that light the area around the implement.

:)

Well, yes, for ag use your method definately works. I think the problem I learned to overcome was the shadows from mounting the lights too high. It drove me nits.
Your way works for ag use and my way works for lawn mowing.
After all that, I still have no lights on my loader tractor. Oh well...

On my TZ25 I had the lights mounted on the side of the ROPS with a spring loaded pivot so I could aim the lights forward and down at the edge to be mowed, yet be able to pivot back for snowblowing. his worked well for me, the headlights viewed forward, the added floods gave me light for the belly mower.

Tatra805,
Would like to see how your lighting is setup as I also have a FEL on my JD5205. Some pictures would be great. was thinking about mount some additional lights (4) on the ROPS, two facing forward and two facing back.
