Home Depot has a simpson 2700 psi with a honda motor (gs series not gx) for $269.

Used off craigslist. Look for a Honda GX series motor with a Cat, General or Comet pump.

$400 wont buy you anything new worth having.

Bought a nicely used Dewalt PW with a Honda GX engine and CAT pump for $350. Couldn't get anything new that was worth a dam for that price.

Husquevarna 3300 - It will do 3k PSI with no problem. Has a regulator so you can dial it down and a set of pick up tanks. Perfect for everything I do and fast as lightening. You do need to do a few jobs and pay attention before you turn it loose on painted surfaces. I think I paid 650 on sale. Came with 50' of HP hose and is a dream for the residential work I like to ask it to do. Electric start.

I ended up getting a generac 3100psi, 2.7 gpm. from menards. It did a great job cleaning the pontoons.

Same one I got I guess it is a good machine but I noticed after 2nd year i have a engine oil drips (somewhere) from it.
