Out of places like best buy, circuit city, target, walmart, office depot, staples, etc.. who's got the best price on a portable DVD player.. you know.. the ones with an LCD screen that can be used in a car, or etc..

Chris, I have been wondering the same thing but not just the cheapest but the best value overall. I have been wanting to get one to swap between trucks so my daughter could watch her movies on long trips. So I need something that is durable (both from the truck ride itself and my daughter) as well as something that is affordable and reliable. Shouldn't be too hard to find ;-)

I like to do a search on mySimon - Price Comparison Shopping - Compare Prices - Unique Gift Ideas, CNET - Technology product reviews, price comparisons, tech video, and more for electronics. Then I go to Amazon.com: Online Shopping for Electronics, Apparel, Computers, Books, DVDs & more and find out how much they sell it for. I also like to read the reviews at Amazon.com in my research.

Once I have the price from Amazon, I start to compare prices. Most of the time Amazon is the best deal, but you never know, and mySimon - Price Comparison Shopping - Compare Prices - Unique Gift Ideas will also do a search for the best prices.

Of the stores you mentioned, Walmart is gonna be the easiest to return stuff to. They just about take anything in return. None of them are much for repairs or service, but you'll find different brands at each.

I like to know what I want before I go to the store. The last person I want to learn about it from is the salesman.

When Steph wanted a new digital camera, we found the one we wanted and then looked at them at Walmart and Best Buy. Both places had the same price at $399. We found the best price on mySimon - Price Comparison Shopping - Compare Prices - Unique Gift Ideas but actually paid a little more from a store that had a higher rateing. I think it was $10 more. No tax, no shipping and a one gig card for $60 less than the list price at both those stores.
