I have two tractors that have different loader Quick Attach (QA) systems. I'm trying to figure out what would be the best way forward on standardizing a QA system when buying new loader attachments.
I currently have a JD 6400 tractor with a JD 640 loader/bucket that uses the 600/700 Series QA system. The only implement I currently own for the 640 loader is a Bo-Dozer grapple that has the 600/700 series QA. Last week I bought a JD 5410 tractor with the JD 541 loader/bucket that uses the 500 Series QA system.
In the future I plan to buy additional loader implements, but I want to make sure whatever I buy I can easily use on both the 640 and 541 loaders. For instance, I would like to buy a round bale spear and pallet forks that I can use on both tractors without a lot of messing around in hooking them up to the loader.
My question is, what do you think is the best QA system to use when buying future loader attachments? Should I standardize on a Universal Skid Steer hookups and buy two adapters; the JD 640 loader would get a series 600/700 QA to Universal skid steer adapter and the JD 541 would get a 500 Series QA adapter to Universal skid steer hookup. Or should I standardize on one of the JD QA systems and buy the necessary adapter for the other loader. Any recommendations or opinions from the guru's would be greatly appreciated!
