I love a good scrounge or FB marketplace find. This week I had one of each.
I sent a guy a FB message about some Pelican box storage totes a couple of weeks ago. He was a little far away (1.5 hours), so it didn't work out. He sent me a message the other day saying if you come get these things I will let you have them for $100 for all 3. These are top of the line storage totes that retail for about $700 a piece. He lived in a smaller duplex and just didn't have space to keep them after his move and he just needed them gone. They were not in pristine condition but still worked perfectly. But for a $2000 discount I will take it.
My other score was a 10x20 foot carport. I have been needing one for a while but the prices have gone through the roof on them. There is a derelict house down the road from me that has had one sitting out front. Well I drove by yesterday and there were some guys working on the house and the carport was taken down laying on the ground right next to the road. I stopped and asked what they were doing with it. Ended up scoring it for $100. It needs a good pressure washing but otherwise it is in excellent shape. Drove and got the trailer and picked it up. Luckily the workers took it apart for me, that was worth the $100 alone , they even saved the screws! I had it loaded up and at the property in less than an hour. Looking on FB in my area, used they are still going for $800 to $1000.
Gotta love a good deal! Tell us about yours
