- Kubota L5740 HST Cab
Greetings. I have been reading this site for several months and now finally decided to post something. I'm in the process of buying a new tractor and I need some advice. I've narrowed my search to JD 4520 and Kub L5740 with cab and loader. My question is related to snow removal. I currently have a rear mount 75" snowblower, and have decided I don't really want to drive backwards anymore. I'd like to fire up my new tractor, turn the heat on in the cab, and clear snow while driving forward. Then, without getting out of the cab I want to sand/salt my 1/2 mile of driveway. So, I am looking at options like a rear mount pull type snowblower with a hydraulic sander on the front. I looked at the hydraulic front mount snowblower which is very $$ and ties up the PTO with the extra hydraulic pump necessary for this setup. A front mount / mid mount PTO type is too low to the ground (I'm told) and might get damaged on a water bar. Has anyone tried to set up a system like this? I'm looking at a snow-way SKD10HS, but have no idea what the hydraulic flow requirement is for this unit. I suspect it might be higher than the tractors supply of 12 or 9.8 gpm respectively.
Thanks for your help.
