Best time to buy a used tractor?

What season(s) are used tractors typically lower? I'm in the market for a ~50 PTO horse, 5000# 2 WD.

I would prefer not to do like I usually do in stocks, buy high.

Best time? Considering the increasing strength of the dollar and deflation fears, the best time will be in the future.

Got any debt? Get out of debt first since deflation magnifies debts.

Deflation is a great time for people with cash. Everything goes on sale!

You just have to be ready for whenever the tractor deal you've been looking for comes along. I recently came across a '76 ford 3600 with only 1200 original hours on it for a price that worse looking ones sell for around here. Been wanting a older tractor to keep around my farm to bush hog and other small jobs and finally found what I wanted. I stayed within my budget no matter what and even got a nice rear scrape blade thrown into the deal.

LOL, but the truth is ready cash gets those real deals.

Back many years a service station was selling his FEL ferguson 35 (industrial version), was quitting, and I said, like wow that's not a bad profit.
He said, hey if you can guess what I paid you can have it! (he forgot he had told me a while back but insisted on keeping his word)
I drove it home for $350.00 (wife almost left me over that one, but she is used to me now)
Deals are always looking for me it seems.
But it is all lots of fun.
Aircraft were also finding me as well as airplane parts and components.
Tools are another fun area. (Think I have one of everything and 2 of some, mechanics and woodworking) and I weld!

Missed by mere hair a Kuboto 7100/ FEL for $2000 3 years ago.
Last year I bid $3500 for 7 yr old McCormick 25HP and missed out (like 5-600hrs) on it., what I did not know was it had a blower, log splitter set of chains and a mott mower. (but the seller also did not know all that either)

I 'm not sure I'd look at "seasons" as to when to buy. I think "circumstances" pay a greater role in pricing as to why it's being sold. I'd look for the bargain as a result of "circumstances" and that would allow me not to be cordoned off as to "when to buy" time wise. If you're like the rest of us, you want this thing NOW or as close to that as possible especially if you got your sights on a good deal.
