Best tractor to get to mow under trees

The trees are spread out and the terrain is relatively flat, but rough. We cut down thick vines and small yaupons, so there may be some smaller stumps that the blade will hit. I was thinking that the ZTRs may not be ideal for this, but I'm not sure. Any thoughts?

I would also agree with cut the limbs up or higher tree service to do it. If not just get you an old ford 2000 or something like and an 5/6ft shredder,probaly find good older shape tractor and shredder for around 3500...

Sounds to me like more handwork is needed before putting a mower under the trees. I would recommend cutting the stumps off at ground level, maybe a cordless sawsall would work for you. I also agree with the others about using a pole saw, I have had good success with a Florian telescopic 12' model. If you clean it up well enough you should be able to run a small mower beneath the trees. Trim the branches high enough and you could use your existing tractor.

How about a used JD 400 series? Maybe in aws. Cost about 3k - 5k. Even a restored 8n with mower would be pretty cheap.

I have the same problem with cherries and walnuts. Anything that won't fit over the tractor gets trimmed off. Now that the trees have gotten older and the branches higher it's not the problem it used to be.
