Hello all,

Thanks for the constructive criticism on my slight BX-23 mishap last week (rollover). /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Now I am trying to figure out my best buy for a trailer to do a few moves a year of the tractor. I would like a 16' 7000GVW trailer, but am trying to figure out what brand gives me the best bang for the buck.

I am in New England, and would like to buy something up here, but alternatively, I have to move a damaged plane of a friend of mine (from the hurricane) back to here from West Palm Beach, FL at the beginning of January. This scenario allows me to pick up a good trailer along the way if anyone has a good manufacturer for me.

Brands I was going to consider (locally available) are: Felling, Anderson, and Cross Country.

A possible one for pick up in SC would be Sweet Rivers farms.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I picked up this trailer over the summer up in Smithfield, RI. It's 14 feet plus 2 foot drop (gooseneck?). 7000# with brakes on both axles with bearing buddies. Easy to load and tows great.

I use a Big Tex 60CH to haul around my BX1500. It is a 6,000lb gvwr 16'X7' trailer with brakes on one axle. It works great for hauling my tractor and also works great for lots of other things too. The heaviest thing I have hauled on it was one of my friends tractors - a Massey Furguson about 50 hp with bushog. I was probably exceeding the weight limit of the trailer a little bit but it handled it fine.

Big Tex makes several different models of trailers including a 70CH that is like mine but rated for 7000 lbs. I think it has brakes on both axles. If you want to look at the models you can go to www.bigtextrailers.com.

I purchased mine in Pelham, AL at Kelly Trailer sales. I'm not sure if this will be on your way though.

Hi MK,
Like most states, Florida has a ton of trailer dealers and quite a few local manufacturers. The 16' dual axle open trailer with electric brakes is a standard size that just about all manufactures turn out in high numbers. My suggestion, with the price of gas today, if you know anyone in the W. Palm Beach area, have them check the phone book yellow pages. Contact a dealer or manufacturer down there, make your deal and have your new trailer waiting for you on arrival.
Good luck.
Larry
