I have a 300 gallon tank on legs that was used for gasoline about 15+ years ago. It's been sitting empty (or mostly empty) the entire time. I'm sure there are rust flakes and other crap in there that I don't want in my diesel. What is the best way to clean this tank out for diesel use, and is it worth it or is it better just to find a different tank? I already know it is going to need a new filter assembly, filter, and hose, but is the tank worth salvaging?
Is there some type of neutralizing solution that I can put in it that will caputure the junk and treat the inside?
