Better to replace 2 flatface connectors or 4 Pioneer ISO?

I like flat face better than AG. Way cleaner. But I'm not happy with all the fiddling I have to do to crack the fittings 1/3 of the time when the lines are pressurized & won't connect. A warm day will warm up the fluid & cause issues. You can shut the machine down & actuate the valves to relieve machine pressure, but not impliment pressure.
Actuate the valves as you are connecting the implement ... works for me every time ...

I haven't cracked the connection between a FF QC and a hose to relieve pressure since shortly after I did the swap to FF (probably more than a year ago, mebbe two)

Thought about moving to some kind of connect under pressure flat face or something. Reuse my old flat face for adapters if needed.
One thing can tell ya not to do when connecting up a grapple is to try and connect it when the jaws are open, if the weight of the upper jaw is NOT supported and the pressure relieved before the hydraulic connection was broken when the implement is being removed.

The weight of the jaw alone will pressurize the fluid ... at least on one side.

Flat face are more expensive than AG, but connect under pressure are even worse on the wallet.
Not that expensive:

The ones I switched were indeed on my grapple. And with a MX....my arms arent long enough. Do issues at all with ISO's
Yup ... on bigger equipment the distance can be an issue.

Typically, I have a M and F QC on each implement and on each valve section ... so they can't be put on "backwards". The hoses on the grapple are always connected together (pressure equalized) when it is removed and it is stored in the barn when off the tractor (in the shade)

IOW: remove hot, store cold.

With the grapple, it can be a bit of a stretch to operate the joystick. I usually find that disconnecting and reconnecting the implement side hoses on the grapple from/to each other a couple of times results in enough fluid loss (miniscule) that I can get them on the front aux hydraulics on the loader with a little effort.

The only time I have had pressure issue on hook up/disconnect is with the AG connectors on the smaller equipment. I much prefer the Flat Face which I have on the larger equipment. Cost is nearly double and that is an issue. My tractor front end implements are FF and the rear are AG. I would like to go FF on everything but that would be nearly $1000 in cost to change out all back end connectors so I live with it. 30 connectors 15 M 15 F
Now the link to Hose Fittings and Supply looks like the cost is coming down. I might have to revisit it in the future. Problem is you can't phase it in one at a time so the cost is instantaneous. It has to be done all at once.
