I finally got around to tearing apart my LONG model 1542 rotary tiller to find out why she wouldn't turn when a load was
placed on her. I was hoping that all I needed to do was add a few shims and be done with it. Unfortunately, I was disappointed to see seven teeth chewed off the bevel tooth gear.
In an earlier post, I asked if someone knew of where I could obtain replacement parts for this tiller. I'm still hoping that there are some out there some where.
I've included some jpegs of the drive attachment components.
If anybody can help me, please don't hesitate to do so.
I have the parts manual for the drive attachment, but it doesn't list the individual LONG parts numbers for the bevel tooth gear and the bevel tooth shaft... just the vendor's numbers.
The LONG part number for the matched set (Gear and Shaft) is: AMI10047
The LONG part number for the gearbox assembly is: AMI10052
