I couldn't see anything until I "quoted" you. Very funny. :D

That's been around for a while. Now they are saying that you should go inside to pay. Since I always fill my tank that would mean going inside, standing in line until I can hand my card to the minimum wage cashier, who will then hold onto it while I go out and pump my gas and go back and stand in line again.
Not going to happen, my card doesn't leave my sight.

They also can scan your card as you walk past them. Last year I drove down to visit my parents, and as is my custom I checked my CC account when I got back home. Apparently I didn't check closely enough though, as someone had used my card to buy a $90.00 gift card to Macy's. I got it reversed, but the GC had already been used. They never tried to use my card again, and I have to wonder how many people don't even notice that they've been scammed

I with you I have stand inline phobia and I dont want my card leaving my sight either, I dont carry muck cash on me and since it can cost $30.00+ when I fill my tank I want to get the bonus points my card offers. I got gas yesterday at store that I haven't been to in few years and they charge me $23.43 on my card plus a $1.00 for Card Swiped, I might call the store and find out why a $1.00 for Card Swiped, never noticed that before.

I've had my CC card and my debit card compromised. Both times they only got 4 transactions just under $100 each before it was caught and shut down. As far as standing in line goes I think they have card readers that can scan through your wallet. I'm convinced one of my issues was from a woman bumping into me in the checkout at Walmart. It makes a good case for using those foil shields to protect your cards.

I always heard a credit card was more secure but it took a couple of weeks to get my money back on my CC where as my credit union returned the money to my debit card overnight.

A friend who doesn't have a lot of money anyways, all of a sudden had her checks start bouncing. It turns out that somebody down in Florida used a debit card at a Sears, and when the clerk manually entered the card, the #s somehow got transposed. It took several weeks and a lot of help from a CU employee before Sears finally mailed her a refund check; yet they refused to cover her overdraft charges which were caused by one of their employees. I no longer my debit card in places I'm not a regular customer, and I sure don't use it for mail orders .
