I have a kubota tractor with a BH 90 B/H, at full rpms ( 8 gpm ) it seems not as strong as I thought It would be, can a pto pump and tank be added to make it stronger to dig, and faster swing, would that work, the PTO pump would be 2 fold, also added to log splitter for faster cycle, and more splitting tons? thanks Dennis

Adding an external pto pump is kind of a deal, including tank, filter, oversized suction hose, etc., but that have been several links associated with doing that. Surplus Center(I think there is an ad on the main forum page) is a good resource.

One thing the realize is that a higher volume pump won't make the device more powerful, just faster. The digging force is pressure dependent. You may want to trouble shoot that before going down the external route.

When I was young, we had tractors that had only pto hydraulics.

Good Luck.

That is very good advise.
Also be aware that many backhoe control valves have their own main relief valve which regulates the maximum operating pressure to a level below that set by the tractor's main relief.

thanks for the info, i am a equipment operator I run a case 590 super m +, maybe I am just use to power of the case machine, but I feel at half the hp it should do better. is there a flow regulator on tractor back hoes, an old machine, I think it was a gehl skid steer, had a flow valve to slow or speed swing times, thanks Dennis
