I have posted on this old Ford 758 BH befor but..

I need to restore/repair this beast and it was changed. Two changes to note; the valves for the stablizers where replaced with a valve pair out of the main dig circuit. And a PTO pump/tank was added. The changes look recent and when I saw it opperate, it did not look like it was working well. hence the good price. Questions;

If it was originally set up to run off the tractor's pump instead of a PTO pump, would the type of valves change?

I have mapped the hydrualic system lines. The curl of the bucket is straight forward, Two lines. One to the fixed end and one to the moving end. The swing cyilders are it little bit more complicated but understandable. There are lines going both cylinders fixed end and a criss cross set of lines connecting the fixed end of Cyl A to the moving end og Cyl B and visa versa. This allows both cylinders to be 'working', one pushing and the other pulling.

The boom and extension (2) cylinders, have a strange setup. Same as the curl setup valve lines to the fixed and moving ends. But in addition, a line Teeing off the fixed end going back to the moving end at a "fitting" block.

Does this fitting block have a special fuction? Controling the flow and why?

I will ordering all new control valves that will be made for the PTO pump if/as required and puting the stablizer's valves back with the dig valves stack.
