Hello friends,
Well I'm ready to get my BH installed on the KAMA 454. I have a "modified" Ford 758. It now has an external prince pump to run off the PTO. This is good. It also has a sub frame to help with the 3PH setup, this is also good. When I bought it was mounted on a Ford 600 series tractor. I think this is when she was modified.
I had quite a chalenge to jack/prop the BH so I could back the KAMA to get an idea how it was going to fit. This is what I noted. Either the Top link holes are too far foward or the lift arms are too long. From the looks of things, the previous 'home' was set by getting the pins in to the lift arms and the weldiding begain.
As you may know, BHs don't have any adjustment like most 3PH attachments, there is no adj bar coming from the top link.
I was planning on removing the top link..stuff and getiing the pins set for the lift arms. Then level the beast and reweld the top link assembly to fit.
Advice/questions; Are BHs made for perticlar tractors...due to the fact there is no adjustment??
Is there any reason why the top link bar can't come from a more horizontal position? If you look at the attachment, there is 1/2" plate steel fame on the other side of the tank. As an engineer, the top link is in compresssion or tension depending what the cowboy is doing.
Thanks,
Patrick
