Good morning - This is my first post - but I have spent the past month reading thousands of everyones info and tips/etc.. Thank you to everyone who contributes to this forum it has been great for a new tractor owner.
Here is the situation - while excavating a small area for a gravel driveway - after about an hour of use - suddenly when I went to dump a load of dirt, the backhoe bucket would not dump.. ?? Furthermore, it wont curl properly either - it acts as if it is confused.. moving in either direction and sometimes opposite directions but its very limp. If the dipperstick is fully extended - it wont do anything when you move the controls left or right..
My tractor is a L3400 HST almost new with just 10 hrs - about 4 of it with the backhoe.. All other functions of the backhoe work properly - just the functions having to do with the dipperstick/bucket cylinder..
My local dealer had me recheck all connections - everythings ok..
They thought it might be some frozen moisture in the "detent" ? tried heating it with a heat gun - to no avail - its about 55' now and still not working..
I searched and searched and couldn't find any similar scenarios here.. I took a few pictures of the control valve bank - I think they show the detent on top and bottom, I don't know a thing about hydraulics (yet).. anyone have any suggestions? I'm sure this would be covered under the warranty, but I don't know about pickup and delivery of the tractor back and forth to the dealer - so if I can fix this myself I'd appreciate any thoughts..
Thank you again ! I also posted a video to youtube showing the controls and the response..
