Recently I replaced all the hoses on the backhoe. While doing so I removed the Boom cylinder (the one inside the boom) to install new lines. Before reinstalling it I wanted to test the connections for leaks. I was told that I could start the tractor and test the cylinder while it was on the ground without having all the lines connected to the valve controller. I was told that i would not loose any fluid or very little if any would drip out of the ones not connected. Well that sure wasn't the case. Fluid shot out of the valve that controls the dipper and bucket a good 15 feet.I quickly checked to see if the valve was in the neutral position. I could not get it to close/stop. the other valves did not leak. Is that normal or is there a problem with that one valve?
