I've got an L2800 with a LA463 FEL and a BH75. Machine is about 2 years old and only has 120 hours on it.

The other evening I was using the tractor smoothing some land with the FEL and when I went to raise the FEl it would only raise extremely slow and would only raise to about 3/4 height. Also it would not go down at all. I tried the BH and it seemed to do down pressure fine with the main arm(the swing arm control) would go down and could actually still raise the tractor, but it would not go back up.

I had used the BH for an hour or so then switched to the Fel for a few hours. THen back to the BH for maybe 30 minutes, and then back to the Fel for a few more hours. In totaly maybe 6 hours of use that day.

I did some searching and found that I am leaking fluid where the control levers go into the control module for the BH controls. It seems to be an extremely slow leak but the metal plates seem to be bowed up a bit like banana'd. My fluid level seemed to be low so i fugured I had lost fluid.

Today I disconnected the BH and checked the loader, it went down fine. I checked the fluid level and it actually appeared to still be full. I proceeded to change the fluid and filters (was due for a service as I was heavy in a project last summer and didnt get a chance to do the 50h.) When changing the fluid I believe I drained right about 7gal(Book lists it as 6.2gal but I assme that doesnt inclue the FEL and BH.) When I the new fluid in it was showing full after about 4-4.5 gal, even after starting it and running it, moving it, moving the FEL in all ways. I reconnected the BH and again moved that in all directions and everything was working fine, and stayed full.

So I'm basically stumped. The control module didnt seem to be leaking while testing after the fluid change, if it was leaking it was so minute I couldnt notice after 15-20 minutes of working it.

I currently have no idea what the problem could have been to cause it to not lower the FEL and made all implements act up. I did some research tonight and see some people with problems on thier relief valves not being set correctly. Also I'm kind of wondering If itwas somehow overfilled with fluid causing too much pressure?

One other thing that I overlooked last year, I was doing some digging lastyear and the boom sort of over exendend? Not sure how to explain it but when going up with the main boom(the swing arm one that goes up down and left right) i was coming up with it and it pulled back towards me past its normal point and stopped against the safety rail on the back next to the controls. Going back down with the boom pulled it back normal and it never did it again.
My research tonight shows that that could also be from the relief valves not working correctly?

Sorry for the long post but wanted it as informative as possible. Any suggestions on things to check or possible problems would be great.

I don't know for sure, but the problem seems common, and it has happened to me, but you don't get a quick connect hooked up correctly. By this I mean the hydraulic line either to your end loader or back hoe. With mine I just took them off and put them back on and that fixed it.

I took my FEL off my BX2660. Later put the FEL back on, hooked up the hydraulic quick connects (they didn't click connected) and proceeded to use FEL. It kept squealing and finally started working erratic. I unhooked Quick connects and couldn't get them back on until I loosened a hydraulic line connector to relieve pressure then they clicked on and has operated fine ever since. Those connectors will slip on fairly easy and a definite click when they connect properly. If they don't then remove and reconnect. Well, that's the way it has worked for me, the right way and the wrong way.

You said you changed the fluid and filters and that solved the problem. My money is on the filters.
