Backhoe BH77 broke - defective part?

What is the fix for this? Was it a harder pin? Only used mi e 2011 a few hrs and broke mine today, bent ear. Junk

Mine broke when it was new and under warranty. The dealer replaced the boom as well as a new pin. Hopefully you can heat the bent ears and bend it back in shape..maybe weld a brace across the ears to keep them from opening up again as well. ..I believe the newer pin is less brittle as well.
