Mahindra 4530 w/ 245 FEL
Hi guys well I just bought a new 4530 with the 245fel and a 7 foot Kodiak box blade from Lawall's in Batavia, NY. Gallen is going to load the tires and put a block heater in for me and then deliver it in the near future. My kids saw it last night and named it Big Hot Red. I have to tell you this entire process has been nothing but fun for me. Gallen is a great guy to deal with. I would recomend him to anyone. He is the type of guy Mahindra should be proud of to have as a dealer. I can't wait untill my 4530 shows up at my house, untill then I will be busy reading and re-reading my owners manuals. Thank you to all who post here. You guys are a wealth of information.

Big hot red congratulations on the new tractor! :D And you are right: It is almost worth moving to the Empire State just to have Galen as your nearest Mahindra dealer! He is Da Man as far as I am concerned! Not that there aren't other excellent Mahindra dealers hanging around this website... It's just that all the brand spanking new dealers I've been dealing with lately outside of TBN have got a LOT to learn.

Meanwhile, I am jealous of the new 7-foot Kodiak box blade. Just what I am looking for! Can't seem to find one around here by Kodiak or... even better now... Mahindra! :) Gonna have to go "KK" I guess until I win that lottery. Not so bad, but I'll need to get out the red paint so that collar and cuffs match!

Thanks guys!! I have a lot of work to get done with it. I just can't get over how rugged it looks. Every part of it is just so much beefier than other tractors that I looked at. I look forward to many years of use out of it. Now I get to make a wish list of implements for it. Minus the Kodiak box blade (I had to have that NOW). Once again thanks guys.

I will take some as soon as it gets delivered. Galen is waiting to get the tires filled. It should be done sometime this week he said. Now my wife is making a list of projects for me as well. My dad is going to weld a couple of hooks on the bucket for me and a friend of mine said he has a 72" toothbar for the bucket I can have. He bought it about 10 years ago and never put it on. I don't know who made it but it looks very well built. From what I have read on the forums it will help with digging and clearing brush for my food plots. It has two bolts that go through the side of the bucket. Will this weaken the bucket? Is it worth putting on??

A free toothbar! Now that is a sweet deal. My bolt on toothbar came with two reinforcement plates, about 3" x 3", which are meant to be welded in place where you drill the mounting holes in your bucket. I don't have a welder, so mine are just decorations I guess. This reminds me, I am going to try some JB Weld on my plates, and really put it to the test.

And if you wonder if putting it on is worth it, I suggest you try doing some digging without it first. But yes, I can not imagine not having one.

Welding plates on is insurance against risk of tearing the bucket metal with the bolt if you do alot of heavy prying with the teeth. . 3" x 3" sounds right. About 2x the thickness of the bucket steel would be good. I wouldn't hesitate to bolt that on without them, unless you plan on prying up concrete slabs or popping boulders out of the ground.
