Well my neighbor gave me a clevis and some chains yesterday so Inanturally put them to good use today. This was a flat shelf of a rock that stuck out of a slope. The horse use to sort of stumble down it so I thought I'd remove it. The tractor pulled it with ease. I have no idea what it weighed but it was baout as wide as the rear tires and about 2' deep. I wove it the last 10' by pushing with the FEL because I would have been in a bad position facing sharply downhill when I finally pulled it to the edge of the hill.

I moved it on top of a grassy mound at it looks great. You can sit on the elevated seat and watch the horses in the pasture.

Nice flat rocks like that are a joy...provided they're in the right spot! Enjoy.

Scott:

ok, yes thats big. I'm impressed......

Hey Scott, tell me how fast your fuel gauge drops. Mine seem's to gobble up the fuel I'm kind of thinking its because the motor is still new and tight of course this is while mowing and the motor is singing along but it still seems to drink fuel....you getting the same thing????

F350lawman: Nice rock! It is impressive how much work these little machines can do isn't it /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Whiskey: I finally remembered to check and I've got the larger engine in my 790. Hopefully, your fuel consumption is related to the break in though I don't remember that on mine. I've always marveled at how little fuel the thing uses. I can brush hog all day long on one tank. Putzing around at less than PTO speed it seems to run forever /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Thanks,

As Rob ( "big engine") S /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif said, at less than PTO speed it sips fuel but if you are mowing at least about 1 gallon an hour. I have been doing many hours of FEL work so the gauge hardly moves.

I have to say that even mowing at 1+ gallon an hour that is about as good as my 42" 17hp Murray riding mower. If you take into account that I mow about 3x the area on the tractor (due to 60' and speed)in an hour the mileage is actually MUCH better. Consider how much you have mowed in an hour and I think you'll see the mileage is all relative.

You are having way too much fun on that tractor! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Looks like you are definitely getting your money's worth.
