Big time score at TSC

Stopped in at Tractor Supply tonight to pick up a bag of feed. Wife and kids were with me so, I was able to wander around and see if anything caught my eye that was on clearance.

Stopped by the restroom for ummm...errrrr....a short "rest" and as I walked out Back into the store area- I found the Holy Grail of deals.

In the most obscure, back corner of the store near the bathrooms was a short wall with a variety of items on it- none of which were clearance or- warranted a second look. Scanning the bottom shelf as I walked by, a small- yet bright yellow tag seemed to be peeking out.

Amidst the array of oddities, I looked closer and saw that it was a brand new Hypro roller pump. Looking closer- a top of the line series 6500XL. What was that on the price tag???? 29.99?!?!?!? no way- had to be a typo. So I moved on.

It didn't take more than a couple of steps for me to think..."a price check is free- isn't it?" So I ran back and snatched the box up before anyone else could. (did I mention that only my family was in the store?).

Sure enough at the register- $29.99 on clearance marked down from $349.99!!!!!! Couldn't believe it...and yes I bought it......told the wife, if not on principal alone- I'm sure i would find a use for it (eventually ).

I rarely stumble upon a deal like this.....90% off !! I Read about good deals here on TBN but- I'm usually never in the right place at the right time.

So...I'm off to the drawing board. Time to rethink the sprayer trailer designed for a diaphragm pump and re-configure for a roller pump!

I don't know about Vermont, but here in Pa. and Oh. the marked price is what they have to sell it to you for................no matter what it's supposed to be.

I bought a 50 dollar CB antenna for my FIL, because someone in the store put them on the wrong hook...............I paid $19.99

If you scan the clearance rack regularly, there are some great deals. (My wife is the asst. manager at our local store, so I get the call if she sees something!) I got a K&N air filter for my truck, $9.99 from $109.99. Got a co-worker a 4000 watt generator, $99.99 from $499.99.
If they're clearing something out, they want it gone!

yep.. our local tsc clearances some stuff.. I have gotten great deals before.

when they changed from champion to autolite spark plugs, they clearanced all the champion plus for 50 cents each .. they were still in the nice metal wall dispenser. I asked the manager if the dispensor was for sale.. he said.. not really.. it would be tossed when all the plugs are sold. i quickly scanned the display and say ti held only about 6$ of plugs.. and then said.. so if I buy all the plugs I can get the display. he said.. sure looks that way... I did.. and it's now in my shop holding all my assorted plugs.. stocked it with autolite crosses tot he champ numbers as I use them up though.. I'm not real fond of champ plugs..

It looks like you might still be able to locate one of these for $29.99. I stopped at a TSC this evening and they had one on clearance but the WAS price was $299.99 not $349.99.

I opened the box to look inside and someone had put a 4 Roller pump inside of the box. There was a price on it that said $149.99 I think it was. So I went to the isle to see if they had anymore of the 6500xl roller pump but they didn't. I did find a pump that was on the top shelf so I grabbed it to look at it. It was the 6500XL pump that was supposed to be in the box. The bad thing is that the shaft was broke off. I'm thinking someone either dropped it on the floor and broke the shaft, or they swapped their broken pump with a new one.

I bought it as I figured I could replace the shaft and the cost would still be less than the original price.
