Ha ha ha ha. I was thinking to myself as I was watching the video "man I'm glad that thing is dead... wow it is huge...the body is tapering off so his head is coming into the frame..." and then BAM! Made me jump back - fast.

Nice....I should have read the replies first as well....I live in NH,and I don't even like garter snakes. I haven't been able to sit thru" the snakes on a plane" movie yet. plowking

Well, just by chance my impatient nature saved me. I started watching and got bored quickly. I stopped the video, but did read the comments which gave it away. I went back and watched the whole video. After, I sent it to some friends. Sure was fun reading their replies:

SHANE GILLESPIE!!!! Good thing you weren't standing close by when I opened the "dead" snake. I jumped with heart pounding. If you had been standing close by you may have received a pop of some sort just an innocent reflex you understand. You got me good. We were roadbuilding and hit a pocket of rattlers. Wads of them came up on the tracks and were all over the ground, the operator was screaming to get the pickup over so he could jump off the dozer, it was crawling with them.

I keep a can of wasp spray on my equipment when working in woods or bush hogging. Thankfully we don't normally find nest of snakes. But do they make any kind of spray for snakes such as the long distance wasp spray?

On the video, had pleasure of getting that from some good friends over the last few months. Sure got tired of visiting them in hospital.
