Biggest Rain of my LIFE!

No rain at all on our place. Heavy rains to the north, south and east though.

Well it hit here in Texarkana (Bowie County) yesterday. The light show was incredible. Garden needed the moisture but..... That was a long lasting steady rain.

I've seen it rain so hard in the Philippines that you could run a jet boat on the runway at NAS Cubi Point.

OMG - brings back memories. Spent way too many days there on USS Midway and Ranger port calls back in the '70s.

I do remember the daily downpours - shut down flight ops many a time. (can't re-fuel a plane when there's lightening around).

We got about 3 inches of rain this week. Nothing like what Eddie has had. We will see most of Eddies water in about a week when the run off comes down the trinity river. Maybe it will push the hogs back up from the river bottoms.

I'm about 10 miles east of Eddie. We had 3" Wednesday and about 6" yesterday. We had a very wet winter but the rain shut off in early March. Just a few rains from the middle of March to last week when we finally got some decent rain from some thunderstorms. The rains from the last few days will go a long way helping the pastures and hay fields.

WVBill... Spent too many years at Cubi Point, one tour with VC-5, detailer then sent me to AIMD Cubi Point, lack of PCS funds extended me for a few more months. Made Chief at Cubi but never ate a bulute. Second home for Midway. When back about four years ago for two months and had a great time. When I die, wife is going to spread my ashes over the South China Sea.
