I've got a 2003 F150 SuperCrew 4x4 with towing package. it is going to need new tires soon and i'm looking for something bigger.
But, before we start talking about Big Foot, etc, I do not want to modify the suspension at all. I could go for a 1-2" lift kit, but no one makes them. It currently has all-terrain (hah!) 265 70 R17s on it. I don't relate well to p-metric sizes. I'm used to 31x10.5" mud tires on 15" rims on small Japanese trucks with manual transmissions. (I got this current truck beause I need it, but I don't love it.) It is like a big lumbering yacht off road so I'll be beefing up the shocks as well as the larger (mud) tires.
So, can anyone tell me, off the top of their head, what the largest tire I can get on this truck without major mods. I suspect it won't be much taller or wider than what I already have, but I'll take what I can get. Looking at it, the main problem will probably be rubbing on the front while turning as there isn't much clearance between the rear edge of the front fender. Plenty of room for the back tires.
Thanks,
