Bill hook broke MF 224 baler

rookie mistake ,no baler experience with 224 . Don’t think cutter was working ? Ordered a bill hook ,very expensive.
any tips on repairs to eliminate reoccurring issue would helpful thanks

I broke one last week

No big deal. Flip up the knotter frame on that side and proceed to remove old one. But figure out why the original one broke. Excess twine wrapped around it and the wipe sheared of the billhook ? Wiper is probably bent now, so when it's reassembled, bend the wiper back into position so it has positive contact with the billhook shoe. Videos on Youtube on how it all works. When you notice that a bale has a missed tie, you need to STOP and figure out WHY. Keep going and keep wrecking parts !
