I just replaced my crappy HF binders with forged, made in USA binders.. (4x the cost of the HF unit )

What's everyone doing to keep their binders good to go when you need them?

-Unscrew, add grease inside?
-Unscrew, spray with lanolin (fluidfilm)?
-Unscrew, spray with Amsoil or SeaFoam metal guard \ protector?

What's worked best for you? I have all of the above, and use them for various things, but never on my binders....

I just keep them stored in a dry box.

I squirt some engine oil on the threads once a year or so, and store them in a dry area when not in use.

I use Gear oil, works for me
My binders sit out in the weather year round, never have an issue if I periodically lube them
Fluid film and motor oil work fine also.

I have a toolbox on my trailer which is drastically better than leaving the screw exposed to the elements. When the screw starts binding which is inevitable I pours some of whatever oil I have laying around on them. I don’t like the grease them because it’s messier.
