I love the 8X42s. They are the right mixture of mag and light gathering. They are stable and you don't see your own movement in them as badly. I have a cheap pair in my truck at all times for glassing the landscape. The brand is simmons and I can get them here for about 25.00 at a discount store. They are armored and for the price are very good, they even are in paralax. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
I have a pair of Nikons for hunting and trutfuly these are better, but for everyday use and banging around the cheapies are great.
