Tractor
JD2555 and a few Allis Chalmers and now one Kubota
Since I don't live in the snowbelt, and don't know a lot about blades, this question might seem trivial, but here goes.

I have been offered this blade via emails with a trusted seller. He knows I take things and modify them to work with my stuff.
Here is the one of the pictures he sent.

I have a JD2555 that I would love to have a loader on, but don't have the funds or realistic need for it, other than my own small needs.
Anyone have a clue what taking this blade and mounting it on a JD2555 would entitle? No loader to add it to, just the tractor.

RUN !! I would find a rear blade (3 pt) You will spend as much modifying that one and still won't have a comperable blade. If modifying isn't an assue and you want a dozer blade on front, then modify the 3 pt blade. Just my opinion.

I have to agree with REGAL. Seems like a lot of work to do the modifications. Rear blades are rather cheap and if you don't mind pulling instead of pushing I'd go with the rear blade. If someone was giving me the other blade for next to nothing then I'd take it probably sell it for a profit and put the money down toward the rear blade. Just my opinion of course.

Hi
Well, I'm in the snow belt. (well in it)
First off that blade is not well shaped to be a performer also looks complicated for nothing.
Generally as a 'dozer' blade it looks to me on the flimsey side. also I suspect it was meant for a quick attach of some sort.

Go the back blade route, much more practicle and quite reasonable to buy.

For dozing a back blade can be reversed and will push a mess of material.
In the forward 'drag' mode it does a respectable leveling/spreading job.
For a lot of leveling and gravel road maintainance the better choice is a box blade (basically a back blade with side wings)

Main differance is with a back blade you can angle and tilt as well as reverse the blade while the box blade is meant primarily to drag and level off roads and such.

I'd even suspect (depending on distances) that the offered blade might actually cost about same (bulky shipping) as a new 'back blade' local purchase as they are very popular and competition quite brisk.

Heck I built my own snow blade c/w mounting for only $250 or so. (in Homemade under MT180D snowplow)
