I also changed both my solid side links on the 3 point hitch to chain, that way the blade will float.

I know but with the salt in the snow at the end of the driveway and any salt I might need to put down the chain is alot cheaper to replace than
the side link.

I've used a rear blade and a front loader (bucket) to clear our driveway since I bought this tractor in 2006, and as said earlier ... it scratches the "pretty" black surface a bit, but no real harm done. We get the driveway resealed each spring/summer anyway to fill in any cracks.
