Blanket /wick wiper

I'm in the process of making up a small boom spray unit for my Jinma 204. I'm using an old 3PL carryall on which I've fixed a tank, 12v pump, and a small 4 nozzle boom. I just have to wire up a switch on the dash to give me control over the pump and a socket at the rear of the tractor to plug in the 12v.

I'd like to be able to switch the boom over for a blanket wiper when needed and use the same pump and tank. Has anyone done anything like this. I got some ideas from www.agric.wa.gov.au/pls/portal30/ docs/FOLDER/IKMP/PW/WEED/WC/F09096.pdf
but would appreciate any design advice, particularly in terms of regulating the flow onto the blanket surface.

The link you posted takes me to a page about Oracle Portal. Looks like it's being redirected. I'd like to see the site and read up on the blanket type.

I just got a weed wiper but it has ropes for wicks. A good friend of mine gave it to me and shipped it from Kentucky to Va. They sew roundup ready beans now and have no use for the wipers. It's 15' and he sent the front hitch complete with the cylinder and hoses also. I plan to use it next year on pastures. It's been sitting unused for 3 years and I'll have to reseal the ropes where they come out of the PVC pipe and it should be ready for use. Looks like I may be able to use some CGB's and tap the holes out for them. Then I can tighten the compression nut down on the ropes for a good seal. I sure am happy to get my hands on this. It was free and that makes it even better /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif. I'll gladly pay the shipping.

Wow. The wiper is front mounted in this picture.

I'm thinking the tires would get wet with Roundup and you would have many large tracks of dead grass. I suppose it would work fine on crop rows, but for grass, I would rear mount the blanket.
