Oil & Fuel bleeding fuel system

You may be able to take the fuel line off before the filter and GENTLY blow some compressed air through the line and into the tank thus clearing any debris from the line. Be sure the cap on the tank is loose to let out any excess pressure. By the way, did I say GENTLY? ;) There may be a pre-screen in the fuel tank and you do not want to blow it off into the tank. If possible I would take a flash light and peek into the tank and see how much debris might be on the bottom. If there is much at all I would take a hand pump siphon and try to suck as much floating debris off the bottom of the tank to avoid future problems, filter the fuel and pour back into the tank.

Very Many Thanks Utopia!!

I'll try exactly that.. just as our first rain of the year decides to hit hard this morning.. :roll eyes:

I'll need to plug the line I guess, as I pull it off of the filter housing... as the tank's full right now. I'll also let the line 'drip' for a while into a clean glass jar, so i can get a good look at it's clarity/inspect it.

Thanks again!!

I have a tc35 da and swear that I can't find the bleeder screw on the fuel pump. I see no elevated hex screw in this area and the owners' manual diagrams are weak at best. I do see a small alan wrench head set screw but it is obscured by the forward fuel injector line. Is this the bleeder screw? Does the fuel ine need to be removed to get to the screw? I have bled the system in the past by removing a rubber return line from the fuel injectors but am getting no fuel here this time. where can I see a better diagram of this pump/ bleeder screw?

It's possible that you have a fuel venting problem. If no air can enter the tank, then no fuel can drain out of it. Try removing the cap and see if the flow of fuel improves.

Pulled the line off the fuel filter and no fuel flowed at all then the line "burped" and spit out a chunk of paper and fuel flow resumed. Seemed to be a piece of some type of label material. No idea how that got in there. All is well now, thanks
