Blew a hose, should I replace them all?

I have a hole in one of the 4 hoses on my loader valve. Should I just replace them all? Planning to have this tractor a while.

It depends.

Did the hose blow from old age or was a hole worn in it? If it was from old age then yes, replace them all. Otherwise, replace only the one that needs replaced. Plus, check all hoses for wear spots and protect them.

Buy the parts. Concerning old age - A lot depends on your mode of operation - if you always operate close to your home base and your not running a money making operation I'd "go till they blow".
My M4700 blew a leak in 1 about 9 years ago. Then a couple more leaked over the years and recently I had to replace a 4th, but I'm always within a few hundred yards of home and its personal use only.

I have a 1998 New Holland 555E loader backhoe with at least 30 hoses. I've replaced most of them at least once, a few as many as three times, and there are still a couple that are original. You never know when a hose is going to blow, or why. Replacing 3 other hoses because one of them failed does not mean that the new hose will last any longer, or that the original hose had any issues.

If you do decided to do it for piece of mind, keep the original hoses. There is nothing wrong with them and if one of the new ones goes out on you next year, you can always put the original one back on.

Over 2 years I replaced 5 out 6 backhoe (bend at the boom) hoses - finally got smart at the 1 and did 2 at the same time.
Since all 6 had flexed exactly the same number of times - and all failed at the bend - I would next base it on similar life.

If sunlight or abrasion has shortened the life of your hoses, when you take them off would be a good time to slide put some nylon protective hose sleeve on over the hoses.
For a small tractor 1" diameter ought to do it. Maybe even smaller, but it has to fit over the fittings. Typical prices are about a dollar a foot. I figure it will double the life of a hose. Use zip ties to hold it to the hose fittings.

Over a year or two period I wound up replacing all hoses on my old Kubota L2900, doing them all at the same time would have limited the pain to one event.
