Blew a hydraulic hose

I blew a hose on my bucket today clearing snow from the drive. I had noticed that the hose was a bit compromised, but didn't expect it to blow on me.

Can someone help me figure out what I need for the hose?

It is for a New Holland 16-LA FEL for my TC45DA.

the New Holland part number is: HYDRAULIC HOSE,9.53mm ID x 438.15mm L, SAE 100R17

I can't figure out what the female ends are. They connect to a 3/4-16 JIC x 3/4 - 16 ORB.

I think I need a 3/4" -16 JIC female end? Not sure.

The hose is a 3/4" x 18" SAE 100R17 hose.

I can always go to the dealer and they will make me a hose, but I thought I'd shop around first. It is an hour drive to the dealer.

Just never done much with hoses.

Skip the dealer and skip trying to figure out t what it is. Remove it and take it to any hydraulic shop, tractor store and some auto parts stores and have them make a new one to match. That is typically how it’s done.

In my little town in farm country Florida, Chiefland, the local NAPA auto parts store has an experienced full-time employee who makes replacement hydraulic hoses.

The last short Loader hose I had produced at NAPA was $14 and ready in one day. The NAPA replacement has heavier hose than the Kubota originals.



An internet search should help you locate a hydraulic hose shop near Goshen, Virginia. If not, enquire for same at Tractor Supply Company or auto parts shops, someone will know.

Skipping the dealer isn’t the best advise. Most dealers make up hydraulic hoses while you wait just like hydraulic shops and some auto parts stores. Usually at competitive prices. The female JIC fittings you need are as common as dirt.

My dealer custom makes hoses, just like 2 of the 4 NAPAs in the area. As others have said, remove the hose & just take it to a local shop for a custom matched replacement.

A simpler description of the fitting it connects to is;
Hydraulic Adapter JIC x ORB
Male JIC Flare x Male Straight Thread O-Ring, 3/4-16 (-8) x 9/16-18 (-6)
9.53 mm = 0.375" or 3/8" ID hose
so a #8 JIC swivel fittings with an 18" length of 3/8" ID hose, actually shorter as most assembles include the fitting length
as said many places can make one for you, most NAPA stores many farm equipment dealers or snow plow installation shops.

NAPA is the only place that I know of that does it on weekends. They are cheaper then the dealer, but not by much. Axxion is a hydraulic business that cost half of what Napa does for hoses. What you are paying for are the fittings, the hose itself is cheap.

Cant add to the hose discussion, but i have been to Goshen VA a few times to the scout camp. Pretty area.

You might have skipped the end of the OP’s post. He is trying to avoid the 2 hour round trip to his dealer. Any local tractor store or dealer should be able to make the hose. This will possibly save the OP some travel time and add some convenience.

You might have missed the part where I wrote most dealers make hydraulic hoses. Any dealer, hydraulic shop or old school auto parts store is a possible source. No need to seek out a New Holland dealer.
