I have decided to buy a 3pth blower for my 18.9pto hp tractor, I have a fenced back yard that my dog uses and when the snow gets really deep I run out of room to bucket it over the fence so a blower in the answer.

The meteor is 366lbs
The Blizzard is 512lbs

The blizzard is more rugged but do I need the extra strength of the Blizzard for the added $500 it costs? There is more to it than just weight, the impeller is larger and a few other things, is it worth the extra money or will the Meteor be fine?

Thanks in advance.

I have a Meteor and other than wet snow it is a fine snow blower. It does NOT like wet snow.

It doesn't throw it well when it's wet snow? We do get some wet heavy snow in the fall and spring .

You might want to look at the 48" Reist Series 1000 single stage snow thrower. It has a 16 inch rotor/ single stage auger.
The chain driven solid cross auger/rotor rotates at between 450-500 RPM using the 540 RPM PTO.

When I checked on Wednesday it was $2,750.00 Canadian+VAT tax and freight. NAFTA is your friend in this case as you could bring it across the border with no issues with a small small flat bed trailer.

Canadian with no hydraulics and a manual chute rotator with a long handle.

They have an American distributor in the South Carolina
STEC Specialized Turf Equipment 864-225-3666
160 Old Denver Road, Anderson South Carolina 29625

Buying it directly from the manufacturer will save you
some money as the exchange rate is in our favor.

Definitely! 35 % better US buck is a good excuse to buy Canadian. When the exchange rate was the other way around and our buck was worth more ( it doesn't happen very often, but it does happen) I bought American.
